One thing that makes Church of the Spirit different from many other Community Churches is our love for the sacraments. Those are the ways in which we do more than talk about God, we experience him for ourselves. For instance, in baptism and communion we know that God changes us, and helps us to continue to grow closer to him. We also offer a service called confirmation for those who want to reaffirm their faith in God after having been away for a while ... and we also offer you prayers for healing and the sacrament of anointing. All these are special ways we encounter God's powerful presence.

There are other ways in which we experience God. There is simply a great power when God shows up. So instead of talking about him, we live with him, and let his Spirit fill us up. To experience the fullness of joy and life Jesus promises, you have to start by being filled to overflowing with God's Spirit. As Jesus told us, "It's Spirit which gives life."
