Giving is Living

When you love someone, you have a desire to give them gifts to show your love. It's the natural thing to do. It comes naturally to God as well, who loved us enough to:

  • send his only son into the world as the first Christmas present
  • give his life for us on the cross so we would see how far love will go
  • gives us his Spirit as comforter and guide
  • gives us an open invitation to join him in his kingdom

We believe God also gives you certain Spiritual gifts at the time of your baptism. Throughout your life these gifts may grow, or even change as God's plans unfold in your life. We encourage you to learn about your gifts and find ways to us them.

We believe God also has given us all we have. Sure you work for a paycheck that you call your own. But the ability to work, the talents and energy, even the ability to get up and get going in the morning all come from God. We believe he gives us these gifts for our use, and for us to use to help one another. Learn how you can give back to God through financial support of his works here and around the world. Your financial gifts are a way for you to say thanks to God for all he has given. It's a way to show your love in return for his love. We encourage you to give, not until it hurts, because after all, most of us have a low threshold of pain when it comes to money. We encourage you to go beyond that, and keep giving until it feels good.

Remember: If you're not giving, you're not really living
